Advisory GroupsCancer Center DirectorsAn important resource to the NYSCC is the advice and direction given by New York State Cancer Center Directors Advisory Group. With the input and expertise of this group, the NYSCC prioritizes goals listed in the New York State Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan. The Cancer Center Directors also serve as advocates for key cancer control issues. MembersAlfred Ashford, MD Steven Burakoff, MD William Carroll, MD Paul Davis, MD Thomas Fahey, MD David Hohn, MD Martin Karpeh, MD Maureen Killackey, MD Gary Lyman, MD Alfred Neugut, MD, PhD Robert Sponzo, MD Vincent Vinciguerra, MD Thomas Weber, MD and Michael Prystowsky, MD, PhD Resource TeamsThe NYSCC provides members with access to Resource Teams. These Teams are comprised of experts in their field who assist in providing guidance to local implementation initiatives. Many members of the Resource Teams served on original Implementation Work Groups created by the New York State Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan. As such, their expertise often falls into the nine goal areas, specified as Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Early Detection, Treatment, Quality of Life, Palliative Care, Health Personnel, Research, Data and Surveillance, and Public Policy. |
