Health Equity and Cancer: Navigating the Complexities of the Cancer Care Continuum
Thursday May 15, 2025
11:00AM - 12:00PM
Session objective:
Community involvement, resources, and representation are essential in navigating health disparities, especially in cancer research and treatment. Increasing diversity in clinical trials ensures that the needs of various populations are addressed effectively. Promoting policy change is important to engage healthcare providers and organizations, policymakers, community advisory boards, and local community-based organizations. In this session, we will explore successful strategies and influence the development of inclusive solutions in cancer care. We will highlight the crucial role of the Consortium in fostering collaboration among stakeholders and supporting research that emphasizes diversity. Our ultimate goal is to ensure equitable access to cancer resources for all.
Stay tuned, more to come!
Participation with the NYS Cancer Consortium since its inception has strengthened my commitment and provided me with colleagues and resources to ensure that diverse communities throughout NYS have the highest quality of cancer care.
