The NYSCC PSE Learning Series

The NYSCC Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) Change Learning Series provides information on improving community health and reducing the risk of cancer through policy, systems and environmental (PSE) change.
Over the course of four sessions, participants will learn what PSE change is; why it is needed; how it is being used to increase cancer screening rates and reduce the risk of skin cancer; and how participants can apply PSE changes to their work.
Session 1: Improving Community Health through Policy, Systems and Environmental (PSE) Change

Session One of the PSE Learning Series featured a presentation on what PSE Change is; how it’s being used to improve the health of communities; helpful strategies to apply to our own communities and organizations; and upcoming opportunities with the Consortium.
Session 2: Increasing Cancer Screenings Through a PSE Change Approach
February 5, 2025
Session Two of the PSE Learning Series featured a panel discussion with Paid Time Off (PTO) for Cancer Screening Policyholders who provided information on how they are using PTO Policies to increase cancer screening rates within their organizations as well as helpful strategies to adopt and support PTO Policies for Cancer Screening in our own communities and workplaces.
Session 3: Promoting Sun Safety Through a PSE Change Approach
April 2, 2025
Session Three of the PSE Learning Series featured a panel discussion with Sun Safety Policyholders who provided information on how they are using Sun Safety Policies to reduce the burden of skin cancer within their organizations as well as helpful strategies to adopt and support Sun Safety Policies in our own communities and workplaces.
Session 4: Applying PSE Change to Your Work
June 4, 2025
This session will be an opportunity to come and discuss policy, systems and environmental change strategies and initiatives with others.
