The Survivorship Learning Series is a virtual series hosted by the New York State Cancer Consortium Survivorship Action Team with the goal of improving cancer survivorship care for cancer survivors in rural communities throughout New York State (NYS).

This ECHO program provides the patient perspective on improving care for cancer survivors in rural communities throughout NYS. Participants will engage with a team of experts in case-based discussions about challenges and strategies to navigating cancer care in rural communities as informed by focus groups with cancer survivors.

Improving Navigation for Cancer Survivors in Rural Communities
May - June 2025
This learning series provided guidance and best practices to improve patient navigation for cancer survivors in rural communities throughout NYS. Over the course of three sessions, participants learned how patient navigation impacts the survivor’s quality of life; navigation best practices with a focus on rural settings; and the navigator’s role.

The 2024 Survivorship Project ECHO Series
January – June 2024
The 2024 Survivorship Project ECHO (Extension for Community Health Care Outcomes) Series provided a foundation of cancer survivorship for healthcare teams who care for patients with a history of cancer. Over six one-hour sessions, speakers presented background information and best practices about a cancer survivorship topic and participants shared real (anonymized) cases for group discussion and recommendations.
